His Hands

DAY TEN
On April 10, 2018
Hello, everyone. Today we are one-third of the way through Na/GloPoWriMo!

Here is our (optional) daily prompt. Usually, we take inspiration from our craft resource, but since our resource is about revision, we’ll go a bit further afield for this one! Today, we’d like to challenge you to write a poem of simultaneity – in which multiple things are happening at once.
Happy writing!

His Hands

hands
floating wise
light precise
conjure command
obeisance

instruments voices
multiple in unison

brow calm clear
holds juggles myriad notes
guides
musical maze

minute move
baton
bewitches frees
calls up in concert
bows strings wind instruments
vocal cords

silver threads
immediate immanent
spring from fingertips tongues
swell to a tide
ebb again

hands
all-knowing tender
braid together
strands of sound
effervescent fleeting
beads of breath

shape-shift

fingers
winged estuary eels
reeds by the river
willow branches
waver weep

fingertips
sapphire dewdrops
birth

new moon violins
hyacinth flutes
love-drunk cellos
bumble bee bassoons
dragonfly violas d’amore

hands
floating wise
light precise
weave life exuberant
know affirm let go
electrify

listen
ripples linger
